A good old Canadian band from Edmonton called Turn Me Up won Disband last year. They changed there name to Stereos and became one of the biggest new bands in 2009. There songs Summer Girl and Throw Your Hands Up are incredibly popular and some of there other songs include Hey cupid and Jet Black Cadillac. They are my favorite R&B/Hip Hop/alternative band. They have really good music and I love there songs.
Writing is my passion. I blog, I write poems, I write songs, I write storeys, I’m working on another book. The list goes on. I have been writing for a long time and it really helps me get rid of things that Idon’t want in my life and things that I need to move on from. When something happens with a friend… I write about it. When something happens in my family… I write about it. There was a really hard part of my life that probably lots of people go through and I want to be able to write about it and let the people that are going through it know that there are other people out there who go through the same thing. Writing can help you and other people get through things that are hard and I want to be able to do that and make a difference in some one’s life because of a book. That’s why I want to be an author.
2. Hair Stylist
I like to be creative and use colour in things. Working with hair helps make other people feel good about how they look and its just so much fun. My mom and sister have friends who are hair dressers and my mom’s friend went to Paris to study painting and is in art school. My sisters friend is really creative and cool and does my sisters hair and it looks awesome. I just really want to be a hair stylist because its so fun and is a great way to be creative and meet some really interesting people.
3. Motor Cross Racer
This one probably sounds ridiculous because a lot of people think that this kind of thing is for guys. Well no its not just for guys. I have been interested in motor cross racing for a while and ,unfortunately, I will not get the chance to ride as a kid. One because there is no place to ride. Two because the bikes are WAY to expensive. The chance of a life time is what I call it and even though I will most likely never make it close to going pro it would still be an awesome job to have.
4. A Math Professor
Ah math. To most kids they run away from math and hate it but for me math is the best. Math and Science are my favorite subjects and I am pretty good at it. I like doing equations and chemistry. If not math I want tobe a chemist or something with computers. Math is just so cool and you can solve so many things with different math equations or rules.
5.A Singer
Just like ever other little girl I always wanted t be a pop star. As I got older I got interested in differant kinds of music. I now want to be in a band or be a solo artist. I write songs adn play guitar and piano. I really enjoy playing music. I want to one day be successful in the music buisness.
The grass is warm and soft to the touch. The breeze blows my hair around my face.I can hear bird song and see the mountains in the distance. The sky is blue with big puffy clouds that remind me of marshmallows. There’s a slight sweetness to the breeze. The trees seem to sway to some music only they can hear and all of this slowly lulls me into a trance.Memories run through my mind. A crow cries out in a near by tree bringing me back. The only sound are the cars going by in the distance. A lift drifts by me on the afternoon air.Its so peaceful out here I can think clearly.Suddenly a Yellow buffalo flies through the sky. No I am not crazy its a plane.Such a beautiful day coming to a close and I think I am so lucky… to have a teacher who will let us go outside for an afternoon and do nothing.
Israel Kamakawiwo’ole. An amazing man. His voice was a gift to the Hawai’ain islands. He became famous outside of hawaii when his album Facing Future came out in 1993. It had his medley of “some where over the rainbow” and “what a wonderful world” on it which was featured in several movies, TV shows and commercils.
Isreal Ka’ano’i Kamakawiwo’ole (AKA Bruddah Iz) was born on May 20, 1959 at Kuakini Hospital in Honolulu to Henry Kaleialoha Naniwa Kamakawiwoʻole, Jr. and Evangeline Leinani Kamakawiwoʻole (yes I agree his fathers name is VERY long). He began playing music at the age of 11 with his brother Skippy. His instruments were ukulele and his voice.
He grew up in Kaimuki were his parents had met and married. In his early teens his family move to Makaha, Hawaii. There he met his soon to be band mates Louis “Moon” Kaukahi, Sam Gray and Jerome Koko. Him and his brother Skippy formed a band with these other four men and called it The Makaha Sons of Ni’ihau. Throughout 1976 to 1980 they toured throughout Hawaii and the USA and the band gained popularity. They also releasled 15 sucessful albums.
In 1982 Iz’s brotehr Skippy Died of a heart attack. In the same year Iz married his child hood sweet heart and soon after they had a daughter whom they named Ceslieanne “Wehi”.
Throughout the later part of his life Iz suffered from suvere obesity and at one point put on 769 pounds on his 6′2 frame. He endured several hospitalizations and on June 26, 1997 at 12:18 am He died of weight-related respiratory illness at 38 years old. He lives in through his wife Marlene Kamaawiwo’ole and his daughter Ceslianne “Wehi”.
The water looked so cold. As I walked closer to the edge of the diving board it started to bend and I started to slip. “NOOOOOOOOOO IT’S TO COLD!!!!” I scream. “I’m not ready to die. I see the light!” The board keeps pointed down and I keep slipping. My tiny frame was shaking. ”HELP I’M FAWING SOMEONE SAVE ME”. No body comes. I’m all alone and I’m going to die. I will fall down into the depths of the water and be gone. I’ll meet the same fate as my father and mother. “NOOOO I’M GOING TO BE BACON!!!!!!!” it was the end for me. I couldn’t hold on any longer. It was time to let go. I slid to the end of the board and tipped right over the edge. “GOODBYE CRUEL WORLD”! The water surrounded me. I was bacon. I can here “poor little porker. He didn’t even have a chance.” And then I go under. All of a sudden I reach the surface. ” I CAN BREATHE!” I scream. I get out of the pool, shake myself off and say “Lets do it again”.
Ah, blogging. The true way to tell people what you think. If you’re using a pen and paper you can only show the people in your family and the people in your town but blogging makes it so you can tell the world what you’re thinking. I’ve been blogging for about 6 or 7 months and it’s added something to how I write.
Time to compare
I think that if I had the choice between paper and pencil VS. Blogging I would choose blogging. Blogging is a lot easier for me because typing does not take that long and its like playing the piano. Your fingers have to move in the same way. The sound of your fingers against the keyboard and the smooth flow of your hands moving across the keys…you can’t get that from a pencil and paper. Sitting in a class room listening to the teacher talk and talk about language arts and telling us what writing should be from some book compared to just getting to write and let people know what you think all over the world is so much better. Getting to learn in a different way and learn from other students and hear there views on things is (I find) more interesting because its more than just what a book has to teach you. It’s someone else talking.
The Reasoning
I write. I write a lot and to be able to write freely about something that I might be shy about is great. If people like it that’s great, but if they don’t like it its better then standing up in front of a class and have people laugh or point or snicker. You get to connect to people that you would have never met otherwise and you can find out what other classmates are really like. You can make friends with someone in your class that you might not have ever talked to. If you go and read their blog you get to know what their like and who they are.
I could talk forever about how great blogging is but instead if you want to know what it’s like to blog then you should find out for yourself.
I was challenged by my blogging friend Amanda to write 7 random things about me. I wrote one of these before but I think its a good idea to re-write them so you can learn some new things about me! So…here are my 7 facts about me!
I am a Ukrainian Dancer and have been with the group here in the Comox Valley for 8 years. I have very good friends in that group including my Best Friend Inanna.
I like rollercoaster but at the beginging I get really scared about what’s gonna happen when it starts and then after I want to go again and again and again.
When I was 4 I feel off the arm on my sofa and cracked the back of my head open on a wooden truck with a really sharp edge. I was rushed to the hospital and had to get 8 stitchs.
When I was 9 I was chasing my dog at my Nana’s house and I tripped over the toe of my pajama pants (yes it was the middle of the afternoon and I was wearing pj pants) and I fell and my wrist was really hurting. During the next week my wrist was still really hurting so we went to the docters who, sent us to the hospitable, where I got an x-ray and it turns out I fractured my wrist.
I write songs. Lyrics and music.
I tend to get sick alot.
I am 6″ and my shoe size is 11 mens, 12 1/2 womens.
Those are my 7 random things about me. I am going to challenge:
So far I have written 2 posts about my favorite songs but I haven’t really ordered them or anything. This post is going to be all my favorite Beatles Songs!
Do you have one place where you go to escape all the troubles in your life? A place were you go just to take a break and breathe? Well I have two of those places and I would like to tell you about them.
Place #1:
My first place is a beautiful creek behind my house. I live in a small neighborhood with lots of kids the only thing is only 3 of the kids are my age the rest of them are younger or older and not just by one or two years. My youngest brother is two years older them me and the other one is 6 years older then me and not to forget my sister who is 8 years older then me. In my house if you don’t have a place to escape to you might not make it to long so when I get the chance I like to go to the little forest area right by my house and it has a creek running through it. Its a nice quite place and it gives me a chance to think about things and just enjoy everything that around me instead of hearing the screaming and yelling and loud banging music that my hose usually has. It is my favorite place to go…in town that is.
Place #2:
Don’t you just love the feel of sun warming your back? The feel of sand in between you toes? Well I love it and every summer I get a chance to enjoy it…with out the big crowds of a beach. In Beautiful Manitoba there is a little place called Rossburn. About an hour away is my favorite place. Its called Seech lake. On one side its a camp ground and RV site but that’s not were I go. On the other side of the lake is were I go every summer for about two weeks. That side of the lake (used to be) is called Seech Lake Resort… My family owns and the property. Ever since my mom was a kid she has been going there. She even lived there with all of her family for (2 years?) and after that lived there every summer. There is the main cabin and then an old school that we have renovated and now use it to stay in for the time we are there. There are some old cabins no one uses (an owl used to live in one it was scary) and then there is the old school house. It has a gym floor and a stage and it even has a piano in it but we don’t use it for that anymore. The windows and broken and covered up with wood and there aren’t enough lights inside so we use it to store everything like the beach toys and the water skies and wake board. Me and my cousin’s get the chance to really enjoy our summers here and if you have a fight with one of them or just need to get away there is always some were you can go just to breathe. The lake has beautiful clear waters and you can go snorkeling, rock diving or swim out to the trampolin we have on the water (its called a spalsh island and we always go and hang out on it). You can just lie on the sand and look up at the prarie sky and not worry about having anyone you don’t know there because its only our family. I love going to the lake it my favorite place on earth.
Now you know about my favorite special places and I can’t wait to hear about yours!
If I was a sports person i’d be a Volleyball player
You are a people person. You like to be around all sorts, and thrive in a team environment. You also are drawn to boundaries, such as those provided by nets, court lines and mainstream music — why rock the boat? At the same time, travelling by air is the only way to go. Click here to find out what type of athlete you would be…
This is not a very good picture. It looks a lot more like a man to me.
I think that this quiz is moderately accurate because I am a volleyball player on the U13 team here in the comox valley. My mom Played on the Canadian national team and was supposed to go to the Olympics but they got boycotted that year.
